PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent retention of heat caused by embers inside a fan heater body in the ember state and thus, preventing heat damage of a control part of the body, thermal deformation of a top face etc. of the body and high temperature of a grip part etc. of the body. SOLUTION: The fan heater includes a control means 4 operating an air blowing means 3 for a body cooling period after operation of a combustion means 2 is stopped. The ember state control means 4 determines embers in the combustion means 2 based on a sensed result by a going-out sensing means 14, and continues to operate the air blowing means 3 even after passage of the body cooling period when determining that embers occur.
