PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root crop harvester capable of pulling crops, housing the same in a housing container held at a conveying end part of a conveying device and loading and unloading the housing container onto and from a loading platform. SOLUTION: The root crop harvester is constituted by installing a drawing and conveying device 24 for drawing and conveying crops, a first conveyor 87 for conveying the crop by receiving the same from the drawing and conveying device 24 to be vertically and freely turnable, a holding device 110 for holding the housing container 103 at the conveying end part of the first conveyor 87, the loading platform 128 for loading the housing container 103 below the holding device 110, and an elastic member 98 for expanding and contracting by increasing and decreasing the weight of the housing container 103 held by the holding device 110 beside the first conveyor 87, and turning the holding device 110 by expansion and contraction of the elastic member 98 from the position where the housing container 103 is in an inclination posture to the position where the housing container 103 takes a horizontal posture to the loading platform 128, and fixing the posture of the holding device 110 by the elastic member 98 when the holding member 110 takes a horizontal posture to the loading platform 128.
