PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a microprocessor and start reproduction earlier when content data is reproduced from a reproduction interruption position, while reducing the capacity of storage. SOLUTION: A content data reproduction device includes: an identification information storage means E1 which holds identification information of an external storage device; an identification information comparison means E2 which compares the identification information of an external storage device newly mounted with the held identification information; a specifying value generation means E3 which generates a system specifying value from file system information of the newly mounted external storage device; a specifying value storage means E4 which holds the system specifying value of an external storage device; a specifying value comparison means E5 which compares the system specifying value of the newly mounted external storage device with the held system specifying value; a reproduction interruption position storage means E6 which holds reproduction interruption position information; and a reproduction start control means E7 which starts reproduction based on the reproduction interruption position information when the result of comparison by the identification information comparison means E2 matches the result of comparison by the specifying value comparison means E5.
