<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment in which a user can safely use stairs. <P>SOLUTION: This illumination device of the stairs includes detection parts 2 for detecting the user of the stairs 5 with a plurality of stair treads 9, light source parts 3 disposed on the plurality of stair treads 9, respectively, and a control unit 4 for controlling the illumination of the light source parts 3 based on the detection by the detection part 2. When the detection part 2 detects the user at the end of the top stage 6 or at the end of the bottom stage 7 of the stairs 5 while the light source parts 3 go off, the control unit 4 illuminates the light source parts 3 in order from the light source part 3 disposed on the stair tread 9 at the end of the stairs 5 where the user is detected to the light source part 3 disposed on the stair tread 9 at the other end of the stairs 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
