<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bilingual dictionary extension device by which new sign language translation of Japanese vocabulary can be obtained even when sign language translation of a synonym is not registered in a Japanese/sign-language bilingual dictionary. <P>SOLUTION: The bilingual dictionary extension device 1 extends a Japanese/sign-language bilingual dictionary, and the device includes: an input terminal 10 to which synonym data are input; a synonym storage means 20 with no parallel translation, which stores the synonym data; a Japanese/sign-language bilingual dictionary storage means 30 storing the Japanese/sign-language dictionary; a Japanese/sign language bilingual dictionary extension means 40 extending the Japanese/sign-language bilingual dictionary; an update reliability calculating means 50 calculating update reliability; an output terminal 60 outputting the Japanese/sign-language bilingual dictionary.
