<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment and a method for controlling the same, which suppress occurrence of mismatch between the position of an operation member and the state of a system. <P>SOLUTION: A control portion 494 makes a function execution portion 493 perform a predetermined function after forcibly starting the system by a start/stop execution portion 491 when a slide switch 16 is located at a stop position and alarm time comes.
