PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer for a net body of a guard fence, which can enhance the effect of absorbing an impact by the net body, by increasing the amount of deformation of the net body, in the action of an impact force of a rock fall, earth slide, an avalanche, etc. SOLUTION: The net body 4 includes a net body folded portion 24 which has an oblique wire rod as a wire rod folded back at an edge, and a net body crossed portion 23 in which the oblique wire rods cross each other; and the net body folded portion 24 or the net body crossed portion 23 is coupled to an upper horizontal rope material 11 or a vertical rope material 52 as a material-to-be-coupled of the guard fence 1 by means of a rope material 40 for cushioning and a buffer implement 30. When impact energy is applied to the net body 4 by the rock fall etc., the buffer implement 30 is frictionally slid with respect to the rope material 40 by the net body folded portion 24 or the net body crossed portion 23, so as to absorb the impact energy; and the buffer implement 30 can be moved to secure a large amount of deflection of the net body 4 by the movement of the buffer implement 30 and enhance the effect of absorbing the impact energy.
