PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively washing a membrane module at a low cost, when washing the membrane module used for the raw water membrane filtration. SOLUTION: In the washing method of the membrane module used for the membrane filtration, a process of simultaneously performing air washing and back washing is applied while permeating filtrate water from the filtrate side of the membrane to the raw water side at a flow flux of 0.05-0.5 times of a filtrate flux in a filtration process, before or after a back washing process of permeating the filtrate from the filtrate side of the membrane to the raw water side at a flow flux more than the filtrate flux in the filtration process.
