PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network apparatus capable of controlling data transmission by a communication terminal, during activation from a low power consumption state, without being limited by a protocol to be used or the OS of the communication terminal. SOLUTION: A network multi function peripheral 1 includes: an NIC 10 for performing communication via a LAN 51; a recording unit 12 which can take a usual power state and a low power consumption state, and processes received data during the usual power state, and the like. The NIC 10 has a transmitting/receiving section 100 for transmitting/receiving data; a power state determining section 102 for determining the power state of the recording unit 12; a startup signal output section 104 for outputting a startup signal when a session establishment request signal is received from a PC 30 and it is determined that the recording unit 12 is in the low power consumption state; and a continuous connection control section 106 for performing continuous connection control to prohibit transmission of data in the state of setting up a session to the PC 30 during a period until the recording unit 12 is activated.
