The cylinder liner (2) is provided with a seal (4) with the thermal expansion coefficient greater than the cylinder liner. The seal consist of a steel material or steel and bimetallic, pure or alloyed metal, particularly from aluminum or a copper alloy. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cylinder liner.
