<p>Prodn. of cardioactive compns. from Adonis vernalis L. and some of the glucosides obtd. Adonis vernalis L. leaves are treated with water or a water-miscible solvent, soln. obtd. is extracted several times with a water-miscible org. solvent, filtrates being concd. after each extraction, viscous-to-solid fraction finally obtd. is taken up in an aq. solvent and extracted with a series of water-immiscible solvents, e.g. mixture of CHCl3 and alcohol in ratios 9:1, 8:1...,2:1, extracts finally being concd. Three fractions are obtd. (a) 9:1 extract contng. mixture of Adonis glucosides, some already known, with 30% of activity of starting material. (b) 8:1-3:1 extracts contng. novel cardioactive agents with LD in cat 0.1100 (+-) 0.0040 mg./kg., with 45% of activity of starting material; (c) 2:1 extract contng. new polar glucosides, with 25% of activity of starting material. Cardioactive agents. LD in pigeon of (a) is 3.6 mg/kg., of (b) 2.27 mg/kg. and of (c) 2.29 mg/kg.</p> |
