<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor, wherein increase in the axial thickness of the spindle motor can be restrained and prevent electrical connection between a conducting wire drawn from a coil and a base member. <P>SOLUTION: A stator portion 103 of the spindle motor 102 includes a substantially cup-shaped base member 131, including a bottom portion 131b expanding in a radial direction and a wall portion 131c, extending upwards from an outer edge portion of the bottom portion 131b. A circuit board 133 is fixed to a lower surface of the base member 131, at a position on the radial outer side and on the upper side of the bottom portion 131b. The base member 131 is provided with a through-hole 131f, formed axially through the bottom portion 131b. An opening edge portion 131h of the base member 131 is covered with an insulating film 139. A conducting wire 138a from a coil 138 is drawn through the through hole 131f, led out along the surface of the insulating film 139, and connected to the circuit board 133 on the outer side in the radial direction of the bottom portion 131b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
