<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the amount of a developer, which is supplied to a developer carrier for developing an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier of the image forming apparatus, even over the whole of a developer carrying region, and therefore, suppress the occurrence of image defect with respect to the toner image that is developed and formed. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing device, developer is supplied to the developer carrier with a first screw conveyance member, at the same time, the developer is circulated by a first screw conveyance member 43A and 43B, and by a second screw conveyance member 44, the first screw conveyance members 43A and 43B array n pieces (n is an integer of 2 or more) on the under side of the developer carrier and convey developer respectively in the same direction, wherein n pieces of screw blades are made to be equal in pitch, and meanwhile, in the first screw conveyance members 43A and 43B adjacent to each other, the phase is shifted by 360/n (degrees).
