<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the unstable potential of a power-supply line and the generation of instantaneous power interruption, and to eliminate the need for the installation of a complicated switching circuit, a secondary battery exclusive for preventing the instantaneous power interruption and a regulator when a power supply source for a circuit used even at standby is changed over between a normal operation and a standby operation in electronic equipment operated by an external power supply. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment 1 such as a television device includes a circuit (exemplified by a block 21) capable of operating even during at least a standby operation, a normal power supply supplying the block 21 with power a normal operation, and a standby-power supply supplying the block 21 with power smaller than the normal power supply during the standby operation.
