PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable assistance in an operation to determine an imaging range so that an image including a predetermined image is picked up in the same position as the target region included in an image stored in advance. SOLUTION: A digital still camera includes an image sensor that performs the imaging operation to pick up the image of a subject and output an image signal, an imaging control unit 51 that performs the storing operation to cause an EEPROM to store the image signal output from the image sensor as an image, an operation receiving unit 53 that receives a predetermined operation to a main device, a storage instruction receiving unit that receives a storage instruction to perform the storing operation, a target region extracting unit 57 that identifies the predetermined image from among a plurality of images stored in advance in the EEPROM upon receipt of the predetermined operation by the operation receiving unit 53 and identifies an arbitrary region in the predetermined image as the target region, and an assistant unit 61 that assists the storage instruction by a user based on the layout information that determines the position of the extracted target region in the image.
