PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device capable of attaining appropriately a flat surface of a switch operating region comparatively inexpensively and coping with a blemishing problem or the like of the operating region. SOLUTION: The operating device A is provided with a case 1 to house a control circuit 2A inside and switch operation portions SW0-SW3 installed on the surface side of the wall part 11 of the case 1, and has a capacitance sensor 4 which is connected to the control circuit 2A and installed in the case 1 so as to contact or approach the rear face of the wall part 11 and makes the switch operation portions SW0-SW3 an electrostatic switch operating portion, and a translucent thin portion 12 which is formed by having a concave portion 12 on the rear side of the wall part 11 and transmits light emitted from the light source 7 installed in the case 1 and can make a display to make the position of the electrostatic switch operation portions SW0-SW3 recognized.
