发明名称 FOIL HANDLING MECHANISM
摘要 1358376 Feeding foils to moulds; moulding articles with embedded foils AIRFIX INDUSTRIES Ltd 1 Oct 1971 [5 Dot 1970 21 Jan 1971] 47318/70 and 2846/71 Heading B5A A machine for inserting flexible plastics, paper or metal foils into moulds comprises a cavity 7 for retaining a foil F in distorted condition, e.g. bent to conform to the shape of a mould, and means for positioning a foil over an aperture 14 in the cavity wall and to force the foil through the aperture into the cavity from which the foil is pushed into the mould. In the first embodiment, Figs. 1, 2 and 4, foils F are automatically released from a magazine 9 and slide down wire mesh guides 10 into each of six passages 11 in a guide block 8 from which they are forced by members 15 into moulds 7. Pins 20 on each member 15 engage recesses in the edges of the foil to ensure correct location when the foil springs into the cavity 15. Alternatively (Fig. 6, not shown) a jet of air may force the foil into the cavity. The foil is pushed into a female mould part 5, the ends of the foil engaging opposite sides of guide projection 23. Mould part 5 is moved into an injection moulding machine, displacing a similar part 4 which is loaded from the opposite side of the moulding machine. Male mould parts 2 are inserted in part 5 and together with stationary part S from a mould for a container having a foil wall W, a moulded base B and rim R, and a moulded seam R joining the ends of the foil. Alternatively the whole container may be moulded, the foil being held in a recess and uniting with the container to form a decoration. In magazine 9 a stack of foils 35 is held between lips 37 and plate 86 carried by member 34 which is biased against the end of the stack by a weight (not shown) acting through cord 39. Foils are pulled off the stack by suction from pick-up member 50 and are dropped down each aperture between lips 58 in turn to enter guides 10, release of the foils being assisted by blowers 82. After removal of a foil a pulse of pressure is given to ram 85 acting between member 34 and plate 86 to nudge the stack up to lips 37 again. The position of the pick-up member 50 is controlled by cam 70 acting through rods 71-74 against the bias of pneumatic ram 73a. The suction and blowing of pick-up member 50 are controlled by followers engaging secondary cam surfaces 51c and 82c. In another embodiment, Fig. 7, the foil stack rests on pads 124, 125 and is frictionally engaged by roller 12 which rotates to bow the lowest foil as shown while pad 124 is lowered. When pad 124 is raised and pad 125 lowered the foil is fed to rollers 127 and down shoot 128 which is pivoted by cam 130 to align with each passage 11 in turn. Alternatively, Fig. 8, the lowest foil of stack 20 may be bowed against a stop 133 as shown by rotation of roller 134 the end of the foil eventually springing into the nip of rollers 134, 135 to be fed to a shoot or draped over a movable guide bar 145 (Fig. 13, not shown) feeding passages 11. The end of the foil may have tongues and recesses which interlock, Fig. 11, and a transition zone may be provided in guide block 8 for changing the deformation of the foil to suit the mould. The foils may all drop into passages (144) in a preload block 141 (Fig. 12, not shown) from which they drop into passages 11 when a gate (143) is opened.
