PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occurrence of a situation in which money for change must be replenished to keep a fixed amount of residual money. SOLUTION: Residue setting to calculate the number of pieces of reserved money for each denomination includes steps for: setting an alternative number of pieces V not higher than a number of pieces of existing money N of non-change domination among existing money as the sum of residual money and collected money when a supplementable amount S is lower than a supplement requirement amount R, and calculating an amount of money found by subtracting a product of the alternative number of pieces V and the value of the non-change domination from the supplement requirement amount R as an amount X of the undecided number of pieces of money; and setting a predetermined correction number of pieces W for each domination sequentially for a plurality of change dominations and subtracting the amount X of the undecided pieces of money by a product of the correction number of pieces W of pieces and the value.
