PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target holding structure capable of recovering generated nuclides with high efficiency automatically and remotely which can hold a target in airtight sealing, compensate a phase change caused by heat generation during the irradiation of a charged particle beam, and easily recover internally generated radioactive nuclides without breaking air tight sealing. SOLUTION: The target holding structure for generating radioactive nuclides by irradiating a charged particle beam to a target t is provided with a holding container 1 in which a storing part 1h for accumulating and storing the target t is formed.
