The coupling (10) has flange rings (28, 30) deformed against each other by clamping elements (40), and radially rotating collars (16, 18) comprising radial shoulder surfaces (32, 34). Flexible ductile inserts (36, 38) are arranged between each flange ring and the radial shoulder surface of each collar and loaded in axial and radial directions. One of the shoulder surfaces of the collars exhibits annular grooves (50, 52) that accommodate and center the inserts, where cross-sectional shape of the annular grooves is adapted to cross-sectional shape of the inserts.
