<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter low in the height of a projecting part of a colored layer which is produced by riding the end part of the colored layer on a black matrix (BM) or overlapping the end parts of the adjacent colored layers on the BM without passing through a polishing step or the formation of an over coat (OC) layer. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter for the liquid crystal display device has a transparent substrate, a light shielding part defining a pixel region formed on the transparent substrate and a colored layer arranged on the pixel region. The width of the light shielding part on which the colored layer is rid is ≥1.0 μm and ≤5.0 μm, the overlapped width of the end parts of the adjacent colored layers is ≤4.0 μm and the height difference of the colored layer viewed from the substrate surface is <0.3 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
