<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect block noise. <P>SOLUTION: A block noise detection device is configured: to decode image data by pixel block, which includes a plurality of pixels composed of at least one image frame arranged in a lattice shape and which is encoded by pixel block; to calculate differences of pixel values between adjacent pixels in the acquired image frame as level differences of pixel boundaries between the pixels; to classify the level difference of each pixel boundary into any of a plurality of groups corresponding to a position of the pixel boundary in each pixel block; to accumulate the classified level difference of each pixel boundary for each classified group; and to specify a block boundary group corresponding to the position to be a boundary between the pixel blocks where pixel boundaries are adjacent to each other, to detect block noise generated in an image frame, according to the value acquired by subtracting the average value of either the accumulated value of the level difference of the pixel boundary in one of groups other than the block boundary groups or the accumulated value of the level difference of the pixel boundary in a plurality of groups from the accumulated value of the level difference of the pixel boundary of the block boundary group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
