PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry assisting method for veneer capable of improving drying efficiency of a drying machine, saving heat quantity supplied to the drying machine, and easy in improvement work. SOLUTION: In the dry assisting method for veneer, the veneer is preliminarily heated and humidified (step S5) for a prescribed time before being dried by the drying machine, thus its temperature is raised to a prescribed temperature and the drying efficiency of the veneer in the drying machine can be improved. Concretely, as the veneer is preliminarily heated and humidified for the prescribed time by the dry assisting device disposed before the drying machine, the veneer is delivered to the drying machine after its temperature is raised to the prescribed temperature (step S5), exhaust heat source of the drying machine is reutilized in a heat source of the dry assisting device (step S1), and the air in the dry assisting device is not discharged.
