PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an increase of detent torque, and to achieve a torque increase of a motor. SOLUTION: The motor includes a stator having a yoke with a plurality of pole teeth 2 arranged in the circumferential direction and an excitation coil and a rotor arranged in a space surrounded by the pole teeth 2. The motor also includes, at a root 32 side of each pole tooth 2, a portion at which a difference between an inside area of the pole tooth 2 opposing the rotor and an outside area of the pole tooth 2 opposing an excitation coil is made larger than a difference when both circumferential faces of the pole teeth 2 are formed of faces along normal lines with respect to the center line of the circular space surrounded by the pole teeth 2. This means that the circumferential face 33 at least at the root 32 side of the pole tooth 2 is formed so as to slantly oppose the rotor, and the circumferential face 33 of the root 32 is inwardly oriented.
