PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment which prevents a battery cover from being easily detached while being made compact by effectively utilizing a space. SOLUTION: A cellular phone 1 includes: a housing 2 in which a slidable lock part 28 is formed; a battery housing part 32 which is formed so as to be opened to one face of the housing 2; and the battery cover 20 which covers an open portion of the battery housing part 32 and in which a locked part 34 is formed to be engaged with or disengaged from the lock part 28 by sliding the lock part 28. The lock part 28 includes: a sliding part 26 which is slidable to the housing 2 and can be engaged with the locked part 34; and a holding part 24 for slidably holding the sliding part 26. The holding part 24 is engaged with the sliding part 26 to thereby limit sliding of the sliding part 26 and disengaged from the sliding part 26 by an external force to allow the sliding of the sliding part 26.
