PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter inspection method for allowing easy inspection of right or wrong of the contents of a target printed matter stuck to an article or the like. SOLUTION: In the printed matter inspection method, a translucency sheet 20A on which the contents of a regular label to be stuck to a fire extinguisher 1A is superimposed and arranged on a label printed matter 10A stuck to the fire extinguisher 1A. In the printed matter inspection method, an inspector visually recognizes the superimposed state of the translucency sheet 20A on the label printed matter 10A, judges the identity of the contents printed on the label printed matter 10A and the contents printed on the translucency sheet 20A, and judges whether the contents on the label printed matter 10A is the same as the contents of the regular label.
