PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing toner, capable of preventing the clogging of a discharge port, even when the toner is produced by using a toner material liquid containing a release agent. SOLUTION: The method for producing the toner includes the steps of: filtering a toner material liquid L, which is prepared by dissolving or dispersing a toner material containing a resin and a release agent in an organic solvent, through a filter 155; supplying the toner material liquid L filtered through the filter 155 to a reserving member 111 having a membrane in which a plurality of discharge ports are formed; discharging the toner material liquid L through the plurality of discharge ports; and drying the droplets L' discharged from the plurality of discharge ports to form base particles T; wherein the ratio of the pore diameter of the filter 155 to the aperture diameter of the discharge port is≥1/20 and≤1.
