PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard coat film in which direct printing can be applied on a hard coat layer by a thermal transfer printing method. SOLUTION: In the hard coat film with the hard coat layer formed on at least one side of a base material, the surface tension of the surface of the hard coat layer on the at least one side is at least 35 mN/m. Alternatively, in the hard coat film with the hard coat layer formed on at least one side of the base material, the oleic acid contact angle of the surface of the hard coat layer on the at least one side is below 15°, and the water contact angle is below 80°.
