PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve receiving quality. SOLUTION: The wireless communication system synchronizes with surrounding base stations to emit beams at a prescribed cycle, forming a communication region in which antenna gain in a mobile communication terminal located at the edges of a cell becomes a first level at the edges of the cell. Further, the wireless communication system forms a communication region in which antenna gain becomes a second level lower than the first level at the edges of the cell. Then, the wireless communication system executes site diversity that synthesizes signals from a plurality of base stations at the mobile communication terminal during a time period in which gain of the total sum of incoming signal levels from one base station and incoming signal levels from a plurality of base stations becomes equal to or more than a prescribed gain.
