PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute processing other than original processing for assisting user operation in a computer without affecting the user operation. SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing device includes a detection section for detecting an access request from a host device (computer), and a built-in host controller controlling write/read of data recorded in the recording area of the recording/reproducing device. The device also includes an OS to process the data recorded in the recording/reproducing device when there is no access request from the host device to the recording/reproducing device.
