PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely estimate the position of a communication terminal as a retrieval object located at a short distance. SOLUTION: In a portable terminal A of a position estimation system, a distance between two terminals located close to each other can be recognized based on inter-terminal distance information obtained by a distance calculating unit 5 through BT communication by a Bluetooth communication unit 4, even if an error is included in GPS position information indicating the position of the terminal to be retrieved, and the inter-terminal distance information is added to the GPS position information of the terminal to be retrieved, so that a latitude/longitude calculating unit 6 can precisely estimate the position of the terminal to be retrieved that is located at a short distance from a retrieving terminal. Moreover, the position of the terminal to be retrieved is displayed on a display 9, thereby precisely notifying a user of the portable terminal A of the position of the terminal to be retrieved.
