PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an appropriate communication medium from among a plurality of communication mediums having different communication systems and communication lines. SOLUTION: A terminal for data communication 10 includes a result data verification means 19a for verifying whether or not the result data of a communication medium 11, 12 or 13 which has communicated with a matching destination thereof has been stored in a storage means 18 according to an input communication start command, main attributes of data, and information of the destination, a prediction time operating means 19b for calculating the prediction time from the start of communication to the end of communication based on the line speed, line quality, required time and the quantity of data in the result data of each communication medium when the result data of a communication medium concerning the matching destination has been verified, and a medium selection means 19c for selecting a communication medium to be used based on the relation of the prediction time of each communication medium thus calculated and the main attributes of data which becomes the object of a communication start command.
