Shuttle loading system - with weft yarn supplied by pneumatic gun

The shuttle has a storing chamber open at one end, and connected at the other end via a duct to an open ended braking chamber parallel with the storing chamber. A brake, pref. comprising a bell-crank spring biased so that one arm contacts a leave spring is provided in the braking chamber; and a removable plug is provided to close the open end of the storing chamber. The brake is released by inserting a plunger through a bore in the shuttle and yarn is fed by a pneumatic gun, through the braking chamber and duct, into the storing chamber. The pressure air escapes through apertures in the storing chamber. Yarn is easily introduced into the shuttle without interference from the brake.
