Under an environment wherein packet retransmission control is conducted, a packet reception apparatus is provided with a sequence control unit that conducts sequence control of received packets in a layer lower than the network protocol stack, and a buffer unit. Out-of-order packets among the received packets are stored in the buffer unit, associated with a flow. The sequence control unit evaluates whether the received packet is an in-order-packet or an out-of-order packet. When the received packet is an in-order-packet of a flow, and an out-of-order packet of the flow is stored in the buffer unit, the sequence control unit will transfer the received packet to the network protocol stack, and then transfer all the out-of-order packets of the flow stored in the buffer unit to the network protocol stack. |
