Disclosed are a power control method and device. According to the present invention, on embodiment comprises: a voltage comparison unit which calculates an error voltage using a measured voltage which is measured in a generator and a reference voltage for the generator; a control module which takes the error voltage as an input and calculates a first invalid power value; and a drive module which calculates a reference invalid power value using a second invalid power amount which is calculated using the first invalid power value and a valid power value from a power conversion unit, and then controls the power conversion unit in accordance with the calculated reference invalid power value. According to one embodiment of the present invention an efficient power generation system is implemented with reliability without any additional equipment or processes and enables stable power quality and generator operation.
