Disclosed are a kit and a method for identifying a causative bacterium of nail tinea, which can identify the causative bacterium rapidly and accurately by a real-time PCR method using a primer set and a probe both specific to a bacterium species. Specifically disclosed is a kit for identifying a causative bacterium of nail tinea, which comprises a primer set and a probe and can identify a causative bacterium of nail tinea by a real-time PCR method, wherein the primer set is at least one selected from the group consisting of a primer set comprising a primer having the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 and a primer having the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 and a primer set comprising a primer having the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:3 and a primer having the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:4 and the prove is at least one selected from the group consisting of a probe having the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:5 and a probe having the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:6.
