The transformer (1) has a primary-side transformer half (2B) and a secondary side transformer half (2A) comprising a primary winding (8B) and a secondary winding (8A), which are inserted in a ring grooves (4A, 4B) of a primary-side shell-shaped core half (3B) and a secondary side shell-shaped core half (3A), respectively. The ring grooves of one of the core halves is wider than ring grooves of the other core half, and minimum gap distance of the core halves is between 2 mm and 4 mm, and working frequency of the primary winding is between 100 kHz and 150 kHz. An independent claim is also included for a house hold system comprising a base station.
