The invention relates to a measuring device (1) for creating prescription eyeglasses, said device including a rigid optical eyeglasses template (2) and a rhinometer (3). The template (2) is made of a face part (4) including two rims (6) that are spaced apart from each other and connected to each other by a bridge (8). An earpiece (5) is rigidly and removably attached or attachable to each side of the face part. The face part (4) of the template (2) is provided wiht a lining-up means (11) that is precisely positioned on the outer surface of the face part. The rhinometer (3) comprises two parts (23, 24) that are slidable against each other, each part (23, 24) having flanges (26) comprising an angled edge (27). The angled edges (27) of the flanges (26) of one of the parts (23, 24) slant in an opposite manner to the flanges (26) of the other part (24, 23), each flange (26) of one of said parts (23, 24) forming a pair of flanges (26) with a flange (26) of the other part (24, 23), the spacing (30) of said pair being variable so as to form a measuring device.
