PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector capable of preventing the deterioration of gas detection accuracy even if a contact combustion type gas sensor has been deteriorated. SOLUTION: The gas detector 1 detects a detection object gas by the contact combustion type gas sensor 15 based on a gas detection value calculated using a contact combustion output of an output when the detection object gas is contact-burnt; detects a degree of the deterioration of the detection object gas and preliminarily detects a concentration of the detection object gas; sets a low temperature drive time used when the detection object gas is contact-burnt based on the detected degree of the deterioration, the preliminarily detected concentration, and low temperature drive time relation information which represents a relation between the degree of the deterioration of the contact combustion type gas sensor 15, the concentration of the detection object gas, and a low temperature drive time when the gas detection value during no deterioration and the gas detection value during the deterioration of the contact combustion type gas sensor is the smallest.
