PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration unit for a container capable of sufficiently adjusting a heating capacity and a defrosting capacity while simplifying a bypass circuit. SOLUTION: The bypass circuit 22 includes one main pipe 50 connected to piping 24 between a compressor 30 and a condenser 31 at its one end, at least two branch pipes 51, 52 branched from the other end of the main pipe 50 and respectively connected to piping 27 between an expanding mechanism 32 and an evaporator 33, and one opening/closing valve SV-3 for opening and closing the main pipe 50, and further includes a valve control section 82 opening the opening/closing valve SV-3 in a bypass operation, and a compressor control section 81 controlling a rotational frequency of a motor of the compressor 30 in the bypass operation.
