PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor containing a polymerizable compound in a surface layer, the photoreceptor having no image unevenness caused by irregular film thickness and having high durability free of image degradation even in repeated use. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor, a coating liquid comprising at least a polymerizable compound and a thickener is applied on a photosensitive layer by use of a spray coating device, and then the polymerizable compound is subjected to cure reaction to form a surface layer.
