1372996 Pneumatic tyres PNEUMATIQUES CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE ET PLASTIQUES KLEBER-COLOMBES 26 Oct 1971 [27 Oct 1970] 49786/71 Heading B7C A tyre comprises a tread 12 having an outer portion 12a, Fig. 1 sculptured to form a bottom with hollows 16, a carcass 10 with a fabric reinforcing member 14 spaced from the bottoms of the hollows 16, the tread comprising a second portion 12b between the level of the bottoms of the hollows 16 and the outer face of the reinforcing member 14, which portion 12b is made of a rubbery mixture having a modulus of elasticity of at least 40 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>. at 100% elongation and preferably between 50 and 150 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>., whilst portion 12a is made of a rubbery mixture having a lower modulus of elasticity. Member 14 may comprise parallel cord material or, in one embodiment of an aircraft tyre, canvas layers 17, 18, Fig. 3. The mixture for portion 12b may include reinforcing fillers such as short textile or metal fibres or carbon black with or without a finely divided polyolefine. The tyre construction is said to be particularly useful for heavy duty use in sports cars, tractors, lorries and aircraft. |
