DOCKING AND MOORING SYSTEM USING MR DAMPER IN THE OPEN SEA

PURPOSE: A docking and mooring system using an MR damper in the open sea are provided to maintain the posture of a child ship according to the frequency of wave while preventing the collision between ships. CONSTITUTION: In a docking and mooring system using an MR damper in the open sea, a mooring device is connected between the mother ship and a child ship and maintain the distance between them. An MR damper(5) is interposed between two leaf springs(4). A rubber panel(6) prevents the child ship from sliding from a mother ship. The posture of the child ship is controlled by changing the attenuation coefficient of the MR damper. The attenuation coefficient of the MR damper is changed by controlling the frequency between ships.
