PURPOSE: A substrate for a solar cell, a manufacturing method thereof, and a solar cell module using the same are provided to minimize an ingot loss by forming a substrate with a hexagonal shape. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical ingot is made(S401). A virtual line is set to correspond to a hexagon inscribed in the circle of the ingot. A hexagonal prism is made by cutting the ingot in the longitudinal direction of the ingot along the virtual line(S402). The hexagonal substrate for the solar cell is made by slicing the hexagonal prism in the longitudinal direction(S403).
