<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric ceramic composition attaining large unloaded quality factor Qu with the exhibition of a relative dielectric constant ε<SB>r</SB>of 70-85 and an electronic component using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric ceramic composition contains at least one of Ca and Sr, Ti, Al, at least one of Nb and Ta and O and satisfies the following conditions when the composition is expressed by a composition of [aM<SP>1</SP>O-bTiO<SB>2</SB>-(1/2)cAl<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-(1/2)dM<SP>2</SP><SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>] (where, M<SP>1</SP>expresses Ca and/or Sr, M<SP>2</SP>expresses Nb and/or Ta, each of (a), (b) and (c) expresses a molar ratio and a+b+c+d=1). The conditions are 0.436≤a≤0.500, 0.325≤b≤0.375, 0.054≤c≤0.088 and 0.062≤d≤0.143.
