PURPOSE: A multi-domain liquid crystal display device and manufacturing method thereof having the viewing angle are provided to increase the viewing angle and to increase response speed. CONSTITUTION: A first horizontal alignment base film(120) is arranged on a first substrate. A first vertical alignment base film is arranged on the first horizontal alignment layer. A first alignment layer(101a) including an first orientation controlling agent spreads from the first vertical alignment base film. The first alignment layer is photo-alignment.
