PURPOSE: A rechargeable battery is provided to suppress the rotary flow of an electrode assembly and to prevent electrical connection failure or separation of an electrode tab even if external force is applied to the outside of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A rechargeable battery(1) includes: an electrode assembly(20) in which a separator is arranged between the anode and the cathode; electrolyte dipped in the electrode assembly; a can accommodating the electrode assembly and electrolyte; an upper insulation plate arranged at the upper part of the electrode assembly in order to contact the upper part of the electrode assembly; a cap assembly connected to the upper part of a can; and a gasket(50) which is arranged to seal the gap between the cap assembly and the can and contacts the surrounding part of the upper insulating plate. |
