<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a button device of an elevator installed at the landing or in the operation panel of the car of an elevator, enabling buttons for each floor on which characters such as figures for indicating stories are printed to be manufactured at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This button device of the elevator is so formed that designated stories are electrically transmitted to an elevator control part by pressing the surfaces of the button 1. The button device comprises a switch 3, an actuator 4 installed on one end surface of the switch on the opposite side of its wall side, and a button cap 5 installed on the actuator on one end surface of the actuator on the opposite side of its wall side and formed of a transparent material. An ink layer is formed on the surface of the actuator 4, and a laser beam is radiated to the ink layer to remove the unnecessary ink layer so as to form story characters for a designated story.
