<p>Chelating resin comprises methylene aminoethylsulfonic acid group (I). Chelating resin comprises methylene aminoethylsulfonic acid group of formula (I). R : H, 1-6C-alkyl, -CH 2-COOM or -CH 2-CH 2-SO 3; and M : H or metal cation, preferably Na +>or K +>. An independent claim is also included for preparing the chelating resin, comprising (a) polymerizing a monoethylenically unsaturated aromatic monomer and a multi-ethylenically unsaturated compound to form bead polymer, (b) converting the bead polymer to a aminomethylated bead polymer, (c) washing the aminomethylated bead polymer neutrally, (d) reacting the bead polymer with aminomethylated vinylsulfonic and (e) washing the obtained chelating resin comprising (I) with deionized water at 20-120[deg] C, after reacting and isolating by settling or filtering.
