PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding method for a sound signal which can extract components of an original sound and delete only harmonic components even when frequency components have the same frequency. SOLUTION: After a frequency analysis of the sound signal is taken by unit sections to compute phonemes each consisting of a pitch and intensity, a search is made from higher sounds (n=127) to find whether each phoneme itself is a harmonic of another basic sound. Harmonies are searched for from double harmonics. The intensity value of a basic sound candidate is compared with the value based upon the intensity of a phoneme which is being searched for (S13). When the intensity of the basic sound candidate is stronger, the basic sound candidate is regarded as a basic sound, the intensity of the phoneme which is being searched for is deleted, and the deleted part is added to the basic sound (S14). |
